Pentyrch RFC awarded “Be Active Wales”

Pentyrch RFC awarded “Be Active Wales” Funding to install solar panels

We are pleased to announce that we have received a share of funding aimed at supporting grassroots sports clubs through the Covid-19 crisis and into the future.

We were awarded £8,240 by Sport Wales’ Be Active Wales Fund for the installation of solar panels, helping us become more sustainable in both environmental and economic terms.

Thanks to the Welsh Government and repurposed money from the National Lottery, the Be Active Wales Fund enables clubs to apply for grants Protect or Prepare during the pandemic and Progress into the future.

Some clubs need the funding to help them stay afloat, while other clubs are using the money to make any adaptations required to ensure their activities are safe once they are given the green light by Welsh Government for their sport to restart.  Others are ready to move forward and progress with a project which will enable more people to enjoy sport like our members do.

Gary Samuel, Club Chairman, said:

“This funding will make a massive difference for our club. It will help us develop some new projects we’ve had to pause due to the pandemic.  We hope to use it to ensure our club can be more sustainable which will no doubt attract more people to reap the benefits of sport our existing members already enjoy.”

“We would like to thank Sport Wales, Welsh Government and the National Lottery.”

Diolch i Lywodraeth Cymru ac arian sydd wedi cael diben newydd gan y Loteri Genedlaethol, mae Cronfa Cymru Actif yn galluogi i glybiau wneud cais am grant i Ddoglei eu gweithgaredd yn ystod y pandemig, neu eu Paratoi i ail-ddechrau yn ddiogel, neu i fwrw ymlaen i gyda  prosiectau newydd.

Mae rhai clybiau angen yr arian i’w helpu i ddal eu tir ac mae clybiau eraill yn ei ddefnyddio i wneud unrhyw addasiadau gofynnol er mwyn sicrhau bod eu gweithgareddau yn ddiogel unwaith maent yn cael y golau gwyrdd gan Lywodraeth Cymru i’w camp ailddechrau.  Mae eraill yn barod i fwrw ymlaen gyda prosect fydd yn galluogi mwy o bobl i fwynhau bod yn actif.

Dywedodd Gary Samuel, Cadeirydd y Clwb:

“Fe fydd y cyllid yma’n gwneud gwahaniaeth enfawr i’n clwb ni. Mi fydd yn ein helpu i ddatblygu syniadau rydym wedi rhoi saib arnynt yn ystod y pandemig.  Gobeithiwn defnyddio’r arian i sicrhau bod ein clwb yn fwy gynaliadwy fel bod mwy o bobl yn gallu mwynhau bod yn actif fel ein aelodau presennol.”

“Hoffem ddiolch i Chwaraeon Cymru, Llywodraeth Cymru a’r Loteri Genedlaethol.”
