Rhiwbina V Pentyrch Youth

Playing a re-arranged match on the new pitch at Llanishen RFC (G4) it's starting to look like a good place to play for the young Tyrch's as just before Christmas they beat Llanishen 5-8 and they carried on their winning ways with a 12-15 win over Rhiwbina in this evening match which saw a hard game fought out between the teams and with a better 1st half performance saw the Tyrch's take a 0-12 lead at halftime with tries for Tom Neil and Adam Conway with a con by scrum half James Evans,

In the 2nd half it was the home side making great strides into the visitors half and they first driving maul saw a try far out and the very rare sight of the ball hitting BOTH UPRIGHTS DURING the attemped conversion but lady luck was with the visitors as it bounced off both before falling to the ground 5-12 and this gave the home XV more with them setting up driving mauls and running at every opportunity and the resulting try and con some 5 mins from the end which gave us some hope of a draw 12-12 but an offence by the home forwards saw James Evans to kick a 27m conversion to seal the match and a further win in the bag.

This weekend sees the youth play Llanharan at home along with the 1st XV who play league leaders Fairwater before the Bowl Quarter Final against Penygraig RFC on the 12th Jan.
